Like most working pregnant women today, just before I gave birth to my first child, I was beyond busy – working day and night as a music publicist, restoring an old house (yes, I was in nesting overdrive), and getting ready for the birth of my daughter. I didn’t even have time to think about how huge my belly was getting!

About three weeks before my due date, my husband asked me if I had packed my bag for the hospital. After the fifth time he asked, it became a joke. It just seemed like a nuisance to have to shop for a nursing gown and all the other delivery-day accessories. So, when I went into labor, naturally at 4 a.m., between the excitement, fear, and my husband pressing on my lower back, I was rushing around looking for the baby magazine with the list of items that I needed to pack! It was crazy how ill prepared I was at that time.

Once my daughter was born, my entire life-focus changed. I wanted to be the one to take care of her, but I was used to working and really missed it. I remembered the bag-packing joke and thought, what a great gift and I wouldn't have to work full-time to make and sell it! Thus Blossoming Babes™ was born. Now we make "delivery day" gift sets for mom, dad, and siblings!
